 | | LEE JACKSON AIR CONDITOINING SUCCESSFULLY COMPLETES 2007 CANNONBALL RUN | | | SANYO Air Conditioners | | 03/09/2007 | | | National air conditioning distributor, Oceanair UK teamed up with SANYO Air Conditioners to sponsor Lee Jackson and Glen Raven of Lee Jackson Air Conditioning in the 2007 Cannonball Run Europe rally.
Although many people will be familiar with the Cannonball rallies through the movies of the name the events were actually inspired by die-hard adventurer Erwin G ‘Cannonball’ Baker, who set 143 American cross country distance records, including a 53½ hour coast-to-coast solo drive averaging over 50 mph in 1933. The European Cannoball Run was created in 2002, and this year gathered 60 entrants (1st – 6th July) who raced across Europe starting at Sandown Race course in Surrey.
Lee and Glen both shared the Cannonball driving experience in their Porsche turbo cabriolet: “The Cannonball race is something that we have wanted to take part in for the past few years, it was an incredible experience and we will definitely be entering next year”.
The team travelled through eleven European countries, including a stop in Italy through the scenic views of Lake Garda, as well as stops in Slovakia, Budapest, Berlin, Antwerp and finally back to the UK finishing up in 18th position. Cannonballers met for the last time at the Oatlands Park Hotel, Weybridge, Surrey where all 60 entrants joined to toast the event.
Lee and Glen of Lee Jackson Air Conditioning were thrilled with the support received from Oceanair and SANYO: “We have been working with Oceanair since we started our company back in 2001and have been specifying and installing SANYO products ever since, their continued support strengthens our relationship and we are delighted to be associated with two great brands”. | |
