Working in partnership with ASPEN AEROGELS INC, Proctors are now able to offer a range of super-insulation materials.
The Spacetherm range of high performance super-insulation provides the highest level of thermal insulation possible with a class leading thermal conductivity of 0.013W/m2K.
This remarkable performance is achieved through the use of flexible aerogel blankets developed by Aspen Aerogels Inc in the United States.
Spacetherm will provide up to 8 times more performance than ordinary insulation materials. It is used by NASA to insulate astronauts in space so it has to perform.
It is a low density solid derived from a gel in which the liquid component has been replaced by gas in a process known as supercritical drying. This gives a material with remarkable insulation properties.
The A Proctor Group Ltd will be offering these high performance thermal blankets for use in walls, roofs and floors where material thickness is critical.
Spacetherm offers cost savings over traditional enveloping schemes where the insulation is applied to the external blanket of the building. Because Spacetherm is applied internally there is no need for expensive scaffolding during installation which negates many of the health and safety risks.
It is especially suited for medium and high rise properties and because of the internal application it is not affected by adverse weather conditions which can delay completion.
