It is now just over 1 year since IdealCombi introduced its Warm Edge technology into the production of its timber and composite windows, and it has proved to be a hit with architects, specifiers and end users.

Improved insulation and elimination of condensation are the features promised with Warm Edge - essential factors in meeting the requirements of the Building Regulations, and ensuring the comfort of the end users.

With energy costs currently spiralling, and with little foreseeable likelihood of that trend changing, the inclusion of Warm Edge is an essential factor in the architects' and specifiers' selection of IdealCombi windows for residential, commercial, and industrial construction.

The use of thermo-plastic materials for the construction of the spacer bars eliminates the risk of thermal bridging that was always a risk with traditional spacer bars.

Older methods of construction could also result in the formation of condensation - another risk eliminated with this method of window manufacture.

The Warm Edge technology is just one of a host of careful environmental considerations taken into account in the manufacture of windows by IdealCombi.

The timber used is Scandinavian pine, and each individual piece is assessed and sorted according to strict quality requirements.

Heartwood is used for the core of the frame - the toughest part of a tree - to bring high levels of resistance to rotting, warping and twisting.

Profiles are made on computer-controlled mortice and tenon cutters that ensure the highest degree of precision and problem-free function in use.

A wide variety of finished window styles is offered by the company, including side-hung (inward-and-outward-opening), top-hung and top-swing variants.
