Leading composite door manufacturer Rockdoor has invested £29,000 in a fully automated wrapping machine at its state-of-the-art factory in Blackburn. The investment in wrapping machine has been made to further improve manufacturing efficiencies which have seen production of Rockdoor double. Rockdoor is the only door designed for the domestic retail market. The machine, which can wrap 30 Rockdoors an hour, ensures that customers receive their order on time and in perfect condition. Sales Director Mark Simm comments: “The new machine has allowed us to move four people from wrapping to other jobs in the factory. Investing in improving manufacturing efficiency ensures that Rockdoor keeps ahead of growth in demand. The domestic retail market is growing as homeowners see the benefits of installing a strong, secure and durable door. We also wanted to ensure that when a product is delivered, it is the same high quality as when it leaves the factory. Rockdoor is a high quality door and we wanted to ensure it was packaged to the same standards.”

As part of its drive for manufacturing efficiency Rockdoor has invested in recycling by employing a Waste Recycling Manager and investing £80,000 in a shredding machine so powerful it can shred a Rockdoor in under 30 seconds.
