POWER IN SIGHT WITH TRANSLUCENT MASTERSEAL
MK Electric
09/08/2007
Designed for end-users keen to assess outdoor wiring device power status at-a-glance, two new sockets in MK Electric’s Masterseal range now feature translucent lids for easy viewing of on/ off neon indicators without opening their ingress-protected (IP) enclosures. The award-winning Masterseal range from MK Electric – the UK’s leading manufacturer of wiring devices and accessories – has been specifically developed for use in either outdoor or indoor environments; and where wiring devices and accessories would be at risk from penetration by dust or splashing water.
As with all MK Electric wiring devices, terminal screws are backed out and captive terminals are upwards facing to make installation easier; as do printed terminal markings. For safety, there is the IEC 3mm minimum gap across the switch break; while the range also features MK’s pioneering three-pin operated ‘child resistant shutter system’, designed to inhibit access to the electricity supply unless all 3 pins of a standard British 13A plug are in position.
Scientifically sealed to IP56 and tested by MK well in excess of British Standards, Masterseal protects users the electrical supply in the harshest of environments. Masterseal sockets are claimed to be unique in that they can seal around virtually any standard 13A plug, allowing safe connection for any appliance.
The two new additions to the Masterseal range are translucent-lidded two-gang switched sockets in a choice of either white or grey – intended for installations where end-users require a clear visual indication that switches are ‘on’ without having to open enclosures.
