The Chartered Institute of Architectural Technologists has awarded four universities Full Accreditation for their courses in Architectural Technology.

Anglia Ruskin, De Montfort, London South Bank and UCE all received their Certificates of Full Accreditation from Colin On, MCIAT, Vice President Education, at the Presidents's Annual Dinner Dance in Newcastle on 18 November.

Accredited Centres for Learning and Teaching in Architectural Technology are established in recognition of a university's commitment to delivering the highest standards of graduate progression and employability within the profession. It also symbolises the positive and mutually supportive relationship between CIAT, the university, staff and students.

Since 2001 CIAT has awarded Full Accreditation to twelve courses, each of which has demonstrated its compliance with the Quality Assurance Agency Subject Benchmark Statement for Architectural Technology.

Speaking of the awards, CIAT Education Officer Dr Elizabeth Brookfield said: “We are delighted that CIAT continues to push forward the academic boundaries of the discipline of Architectural Technology. The new status of our relationships with Anglia Ruskin University, University of Central England, and De Montfort University will help them and us to go from strength to strength, with consequential advancement of the profession.”
