 | | TOP TRAINING | | | Buderus | | 05/04/2007 | | | Buderus continue to expand their regional training schools with a purpose designed training centre that has been built in conjunction with Lincoln College to provide high quality training facilities for installers and service engineers in the East of the country.
There are five working boilers from across the full Buderus domestic gas fired boiler range including the 800, 600 and 500 models. The boilers are the very latest high efficiency SADBUK A rated Combi, regular and system condensing versions and each is installed in the centre along with state-of-the-art Buderus controls. The centre allows installers to gain additional experience and training in installation, commissioning, servicing and fault finding in a practical, “hands-on” style and the facilities also include classroom and teaching aids.
The centre has proved especially beneficial for the training of Aaron Services team of 24 installers, who secured the Lincoln City Council contract for the domestic housing ‘Decent Homes’ heating programme, choosing Buderus boilers to fulfil the contract.
“We looked at several potential boiler manufacturers products and found Buderus to be of superb quality and well ahead of the field for ease of installation and maintenance. The backup and technical services they offer are also excellent” says Jon Posey of Aaron Services, who works exclusively with local authorities and heating associations throughout East Anglia on installation and maintenance contracts.
As part of our Decent Homes programme and in partnership with Aaron Services chose the “one manufacturer” option. The Buderus range of products, easily satisfied our expectations for our heating specification. Key factors in the decision were ease of service and maintenance, backed up by exceptional technical support. “The design of boiler is quite unique” adds Graeme Twell, Gas Contracts Surveyor for City of Lincoln Council.
The School of Construction at Lincoln College also uses Buderus boilers for its short courses in Part L Energy Efficiency, ACS, Water Regulations and Unvented Systems and for ACS training and assessment to Levels 2 and 3.
“We are impressed with the high quality, energy efficiency and reliability of Buderus products” says Steve Flatley, Team Leader for Plumbing & Gas at Lincoln College “It is important that installers and engineers in the area are familiar with the latest product developments and the cooperation with Buderus benefits the college by bringing in people from the industry to see these innovations whilst they visit the training school and discuss their retraining or upskilling opportunities.
The college trains around 200 heating installers a year and Buderus anticipate a similar number of attendees at their training centre during the year in addition to this. Key issues which visitors are generally keen to know more about include condensate disposal, plume management, Part P Electrical Requirements and boiler siting options.
The Buderus range offers a wide choice of high efficiency boilers for installers, with ease of installation and maintenance especially important features. The 500 range of gas fired condensing boilers includes 28kW and 24kW combis and a 24kW system boiler, all of which are SEDBUK A rated and have the lowest NOx classification. Combis feature warmstart technology and have impressive performance on both heating and domestic hot water. A particular feature of the 500 range is the ease and speed of servicing and the technical benefits of the finned, one piece, coiled aluminium silicate tube heat exchanger which has been successfully tried and tested in the European condensing boiler market for many years.
Buderus also recognise that controls are an equally important part in achieving maximum energy savings in the home. The Buderus ModuLink for example is a combined wireless thermostat and programmer that modulates the boiler output according to room temperature and in so doing improves fuel efficiency and reduces unnecessary wear and tear on the boiler. The controller is 24v which makes it very easy to install and operates up to 30m from the boiler. | |
