Leading roofing manufacturer Marley Eternit predicts that the popularity of plain tiles, in particular clay, will continue this year as more developers aim for the traditional look.

In anticipation of this, Marley Eternit has released its latest brochure, focusing on Plain Tiles, which for the first time includes both its clay and concrete plain tiles ranges.

The publication comes hot on the heels of Marley Eternit's new £19m factory in Keele, which uses the latest technology to create an unsurpassed consistency and quality in its clay tiles - at a staggering peak output of 50 million tiles a year.

The range has been enhanced by the arrival of single-camber Acme clay plain tiles, to complement the existing Acme double camber range.

The Plain Tiles brochure features design details including specific information on verges, ridges and hips, as well as a section outlining the company's strong environmental credentials.

Joanne Pearson, campaign manager at Marley Eternit, said: 'With this brochure we have aimed to illustrate the range of incredible design options that can be achieved with plain tiles - the traditional look is really in vogue and plain tiles like ours are the best way to achieve it.'

Marley Eternit's plain tile range includes the handcrafted Ashdowne and popular Hawkins and Acme clay plain tiles, through to the Plain, Heritage and Marlden concrete plain tiles.
