 | | FLUSHED WITH SUCCESS | | | Ideal Standard | | 10/10/2006 | | | Bluebook Online a big hit for world's largest bathroom company
Ideal Standard has launched a new website which promises to increase productivity by giving customers the ability to specify complex projects online. Previously the sales force spent long hours sitting with customers manually going through catalogues and working out projects by hand prior to making a sale.
Bluebook Online, aimed at architects and construction professionals, gives visitors access to a pioneering new specification tool which allows them to select and configure complex product combinations and output industry standard documentation and reports. Projects can be stored and managed on the site with an option to share projects with other members of the community using the system.
The website shows that, given the tools, customers are prepared to specify their own projects. This gives the sales force, who previously spent long hours sitting with customers manually going through a catalogue and working out projects by hand, time to visit more customers and drive more business.
'Quba has certainly given us a competitive edge over our competition,' says Tony Rheinberg, UK Marketing Manager for Ideal Standard. 'The results of Bluebook Online have been instant - it really reduces the work load for our sales force. We plan to roll it out to all our customers in due course as the feedback is tremendous.'
Following the success with Ideal Standard, Quba are optimistic that they will be able to help other companies in similar markets who have the same business model.
'With the experience we've gained form this project we're hoping to move into other, related markets,' said Quba Technical director Rob Wilmot. 'Any company with a large portfolio of configurable products would see the benefit.'
