Easilift Loading Systems Ltd

Easilift Loading Systems, one of the UK's foremost loading bay equipment suppliers, has demonstrated its commitment to health and safety by having its SAFEcontractor accreditation renewed for a second term.

The SAFEcontractor programme recognises extremely high standards of health and safety practices. Contractors are subject to a vetting process which examines their health & safety procedures and with clients having a legal obligation to ensure that contractors operate in a safe manner, accreditation means they need no longer run the risk of employing contractors who are not able to demonstrate that they operate effective health and safety policies.

Easilift was awarded the accolade on its first attempt in September 2004. Now, following an in-depth assessment of all its procedures, accreditation has been renewed until January 2007.

To achieve renewal Easilift had to go through the extensive vetting procedure. This was to ensure that all its health and safety documentation compared favourably against the SAFEcontractor Charter Standards, which sets out specified standards to be achieved, and that it had a good track record for safe practice.

Companies that meet the high standards required are then included on a database, which is accessible via the website.

Said Phil Dinning, Managing Director of Easilift Loading Systems: 'The renewal of this nationally recognised accreditation demonstrates to existing and prospective customers our total commitment to health and safety at every stage of the company's activities.

'We take health and safety extremely seriously when developing, manufacturing and installing loading bay equipment, which has led to a safety record that is second to none.'

SAFEcontractor is operated by international safety, health and environmental risk management specialists, the National Britannia Group.

James Ostler, Managing Director of Information Service at National Britannia said: 'Major organisations can no longer run the risk of employing contractors who are not able to demonstrate that they have sound health and safety policies. More companies need to understand the importance of adopting good risk management in the way that Easilift Loading Systems has done. The firm's high standard has set an example which, hopefully, will be followed by other companies within their sector.'

Easilift provides everything necessary for the safe, efficient and profitable operation of loading bays. This including dock levellers, dock shelters, dock pods, dock seals, dock pods, doors, high speed doors, vehicle restraints and lifting platforms.

It also offers a complete range of accessories and safety aids, from dock plates, dock bumpers and wheel guides, to traffic lights and integrated control systems.

The company, which celebrates its 30th anniversary this year, has an extensive customer list that is a roll call of some of the biggest names in UK manufacturing, retailing, logistics, distribution and the service sector.
