 | | INSTITUTE AGM CAPS SUCCESSFUL YEAR |  | | Institute of Architectural Ironmongers | | 09/10/2006 | | | The 2006 Annual General Meeting of the Institute of Architectural Ironmongers was the best attended and most successful ever, the culmination of a successful year for the institute, which is the individual-membership section of the Guild of Architectural Ironmongers.
As well as a programme of speakers and awards. the meeting saw, the election of Peter Haywood as the lnstitute's new Chairman. Peter, of Geze, takes on the chairmanship from outgoing chair Andy Harker with the organisation in good shape. The last twelve months have been success for the Institute with attendance at all branches increasing and every region boasting a full programme of speakers and events. The Institute's newest branch. South Central, has grown considerably during the year and now has over 200 members.
The Institute AGM also included the presentation of a number of awards. Stella Green was awarded the Mike Lewis Trophy for customer services while Alex McCully was presented with the Bob Ramage trophy for services to the Institute.
Full Membership of The Institute Section of the Guild of Architectural Ironmongers is open to individuals actively engaged in the architectural ironmongery industry who have either gained the Guild Diploma or had practical training and a minimum of ten years experience. The Institute is currently organised into seven regions; Scotland. Northern Counties. Midlands, South West, South East South, Central and South Wales. Each region organises a programme of social, business and CPD activities aimed at improving and promoting the expertise and professionalism of modern architectural ironmongers.
