A brand new track and trace coding technology is to be unveiled at Intergraf.

FractureCode, which has been five years in development, is a unique coding technology that enables companies to manage their supply chains more efficiently and in addition provides a further deterrent to counterfeiting.

The technology uses standard printing techniques to provide a cost effective, highly functional symbology for both document and item marking. While the technology is totally new, FractureCode has been designed to be used alongside existing codes, such as DataMatrix, PDF147 and RFID tags, providing an additional level of traceability and authentication for both documents and products.

FractureCode has been developed for a variety of applications to help track and protect both brands and documents throughout the manufacturing process and distribution chain, and has the capability to handle large volume production runs and document issues.

Typical users will include government agencies for passports, ID cards and tax stamps, and brand owners in a variety of sectors such as the pharmaceutical, alcohol and tobacco markets.

Further information on FractureCode will be unveiled during a presentation at Intergraf given by Commercial Director Stephen Pinchen, which will outline the background to the technology and explore the opportunities available for integrating FractureCode into security documentation and packaging.

`It's not often that a technology comes along that defines its own market sector' commented Stephen. `FractureCode will help brand owners & document issuers to track and protect their products and I look forward to presenting these opportunities in greater detail at Intergraf
