 | | INSTARMAC ON CUE | | | Instarmac Group plc | | 01/11/2006 | | | Instarmac Group plc, the Tamworth based manufacturer of the leading Ultra brand of tile adhesives and grouts, is right on cue with a sponsorship deal for local snooker sensation - fourteen year old Mitchell Mann. The talented lad, from Castle Vale in Birmingham, has already faced legendary Snooker champion Jimmy White, who tips the junior Snooker champion for the top. Jimmy commented, 'Mitchell has the potential to become a world champion. He's a very, very good player with a good snooker brain.'
John Holcroft, Instarmac's Managing Director, was keen to support Mitchell by agreeing that the company should become his main sponsor after closely monitoring the lad's burgeoning talent, which includes a highest tournament break of 128 (better than the majority of his contemporaries and many players much older than him). Since its inception, Instarmac has played an active role in the community and is committed to supporting such local talent. John Holcroft commented 'Passion, commitment and enthusiasm are three words that sum up Mitchell and the same words are also part of the foundation and the ethos of our company. Mitchell is incredibly talented. He overwhelmed both me and Paul Butcher, Instarmac's Sales Director when we played him', he continued. 'Mitchell obviously has the potential to become a world champion and if we are able to provide support and encouragement whilst he is making his way there, then we will be delighted.' Mitchell is one of the most exciting young stars on the U.K. Snooker Circuit. He has beaten many of the current U19 and U21 international players in competitive play and regularly reaches the final stages of tournaments he enters. His recent success in obliterating his opponents to take the 'Silver Waistcoat' was indeed a fantastic achievement considering the young star's age. The real thrill, however, was the call to play for England U18's at the recent Home Countries Internationals, where succeeded in annihilating all of his opponents. Reaching the current heights, however, has not been easy for the budding young star. He has had to overcome the rare condition Perthes Disease, a condition that affects the hip joints of children. But the problem has not dampened his commitment and he has already established himself as a Championship contender.
Mitchell Mann will be a name to be savoured by every Snooker pundit over the course of the next few years. With Steve Prest, coach to World Champion Sean Murphy, now assisting his development and the support of his parents, his future is looking very bright. His ultimate ambition is to be World Champion. If his recent track record is anything to go by, this could be sooner than we think.
