TITON’S FRESH AIR SOLUTION FOR BARRATT
Titon
03/01/2007
Barratt Homes' new development of one and two bedroomed flats, at Centreway Ilford, has been fitted with Sonair and Innoventus ventilators from Titon. The 16-storey apartment block is finished to the highest specification with each of the 163 properties enjoying a terrace or balcony.
In common with many brownfield developments, Centreway is in close proximity to major roads and a mainline railway track that generates not only noise but also environmental pollution. Therefore priority was given to ensuring that air quality remained high but that potentially intrusive sound was prevented from entering the dwellings via the ventilation system. Acoustic Design Consultants of Hadleigh, Suffolk were approached to specify a solution for properties on the development. ADC recommended that Sonair and Innoventus units from Titon were fitted throughout the development.
The Sonair wall ventilator is a stand alone decentralised air supply unit with excellent sound attenuation properties that supplies filtered air and is virtually silent in operation. The Innoventus unit offers the same performance characteristics and works in conjunction with a standard radiator. The units can also be linked to a central exhaust system that ensures the quantity of air extracted is matched by the air supplied by the Sonair and Innoventus units, to produce a fully balanced ventilation system.
An Air Comfort Control station can regulate and control the supply and extraction of air and the unit can easily be adjusted to set personal ventilation preferences in specific living areas. Carbon dioxide sensors can be added to the controls package to ensure optimum air quality in each living area.
Simply installed and energy efficient, the Innoventus and Sonair systems offer architects and designers real options for ventilation on brown field developments where exterior air quality and noise pollution can cause residents problems.
