 | | AMERICAN HARDWOODS AT 100% DETAIL AT STAND C70 | | | American Hardwood Export Council (AHEC) | | 04/10/2006 | | | The American Hardwood Export Council (AHEC) has chosen 100% Detail at which to launch the second edition of their architectural publication Hardwood References. Copies will be distributed to all who visit the stand which will be a central attraction for architects at the show. It will feature fourteen internationally acclaimed architectural projects from around Europe, twelve of which are described in more detail in the new Hardwood References.
This publication showcases many American hardwood species used in recent projects. They include the Vacheron Constantin HQ in Geneva, the new Opera House in Copenhagen, Rafael Moneo's Navarra Archives in Spain and Carlos Ferrater's Castellon Auditorium. The range of sustainable American hardwoods include red and white oak, black cherry, hard maple, tulipwood and black walnut, all of which are unique to, and native species of, North American hardwood forests. The book also presents the environmental credentials of American hardwoods which are so vital in today's world.
Integral to the stand are a full range of hand samples including those species featured in the projects displayed. Following on from 100% Detail last year, AHEC will again be evaluating architectural opinions on the look and performance of American hardwood featured on the stand.
