 | | EGGER’S NEW DECOR INTRODUCTIONS LEAD THE WAY FOR DESIGN POSSIBILITIES | | | Egger UK Ltd | | 27/10/2006 | | | EGGER has introduced four new decors onto the market which offer exciting new possibilities for woodgrain and solid colour combinations.
Though darker woodgrains are beginning to dominate, light wood types still prove ever popular for a clean, fresh look. EGGER's new Light Lakeland Acacia (H1277) is a light timber effect with a natural character due to its strong planking and slight knots. Similar to oak and with a subtle play of colours through the grain, the Lakeland Acacia can be used in either horizontal or vertical application and is suitable for a combination with a wide range of solid colours.
As walnut as a species grows in popularity, so does the demand from the UK furniture market for different types of walnut designs. Natural Dijon Walnut (H3734) is a lively French style walnut with a modern and contemporary twist but one with still retains a very natural look. With slightly rustic features such as its small knots and contrasting areas of light and dark graining, it is ideally suited for use in large horizontal areas. Due to the variety of colours in the graining, combinations with a range of well balanced solid colours work particularly effectively.
With solid colours, we see two distinct trends emerging. On the one hand, earthy-toned colours such as beige, cappuccino and brown have proved extremely popular over the last few years. This spectrum of colours has been extended by the introduction of Caramel (U203) - a soft, muted colour which brings warmth and depth to any living space.
On the other hand, new colour developments and their various combinations are becoming much more adventurous. These developments have been specifically designed to pick out the subtle hints of colours that can be seen within many of the new woodgrain developments. For example one of EGGER's new solid colours Petrol (U532), allows for very effective harmonious combination with their H1277 Light Lakeland Acacia by highlighting the subtle blue/grey tones. Though the colours still remain fairly muted to ensure a well-balanced look, they are sufficiently bold to make a real design statement.
Both decors are available now in Eurodekor MFC, MDF and pre-glued melamine edging. | |
