ADVANCED GUARDRAIL MAKES BOSS TOWER SUPER-SAFE
BoSS
09/10/2006
BoSS, the market-leading aluminium tower system from Youngman, is now safer than ever thanks to the introduction of a new advanced guardrail system.
A number of sites are now requiring that towers be assembled in specific ways. As part of this movement, and developed in line with the increased safety requirements of the Work at Height Regulations, BoSS now boasts all the recommended types of tower erection, including the 3T method and the new advanced guardrail system.
The guardrail method provides full protection from falls during erection of the tower by means of installing a full double guardrail safely and securely on the deck above from the completed deck level below.
The new guardrail comprises one single lightweight unit, which can be handled easily by one person. Available in two sizes - 1.8 m and 2.5 m - the guardrail is suitable for both single- and double-width towers. The product has no mechanical parts and comes supplied as one complete unit. The user simply has to fold out the unit.
The guardrail ensures that the operative has continuous protection from falls when assembling the tower without hindering movement or complicating the erection process. And unlike other guardrail systems on the market, Youngman's guardrail can form an integral part of the final tower structure.
Using the handrail is simple. It is attached via a single fixing and works with all diagonal brace and stabiliser variations. It also reduces the bracing requirement for the tower as well as meeting the latest legal guardrail gap requirement.
The new advanced guardrail gives visible secure protection, is very light to manoeuvre and only the minimum of instruction is required to learn how to use the system safely and effectively.
When not in use, the advanced guardrail system folds flat for easy transport to and from site.
