Hochiki Europe has launched two new Multi-Heat Sensors. The ACB-E Multi Heat sensor and the ACB-EW Waterproof Multi Heat Sensor both have user-selectable modes and are fully compatible with Hochiki's analogue addressable Enhanced System Protocol (ESP).

The ACB-E incorporates both a Fixed Temperature heat element and a Rate Of Rise heat element. Each of these elements can be monitored by the control panel either independently or simultaneously to make the fire decision. This flexibility makes the ACB-E ideal for Heat Detection within those areas that suffer from rapid and unpredictable temperature fluctuations where an extremely rapid response is necessary.

The sensor is LPCB approved for use in three EN54 Heat Classifications, A, B & C and these are also user-selectable from the control panel.

The ACB-E also features 'power-up damping' which prevents the device giving an alarm condition when a cold sensor is installed in a significantly hotter environment.

The ACB-EW offers all the same advanced fire detection and false alarm rejection features of the ACB-E but is fully waterproof (to IP67), making it the obvious choice for cold stores and car parking areas. With its inherent waterproofing the sensor is also perfectly suited to environments which require constant hosing down, such as food preparation areas. The ACB-EW is supplied with its own fixing base which is used for surface mounting. Sealed flying leads from the sensor connect directly to the loop.

Both products are electronically addressed for simple, fast and accurate commissioning, and the sensor polling LEDs can be controlled via the Control Panel to be either pulsing or non-pulsing.
