Thorn has upgraded its Glacier II pendant range to perform a wider variety of roles. While retaining its predecessor’s reputation for design flair - note the cool-looking cone styling and clean colours - it gains more reflector options, more lamp choices and easier fixings. There are two sizes for commercial and contract lighting use.

The heart of any pendant is its reflector system and the Glacier II now comes with a choice of four - three direct/indirect light distributions and one direct. The former range from prismatic and opal glass to the prismatic polycarbonate (large only), each with an individual aesthetic. The latter is a conventional aluminium reflector, which achieves a radial batwing distribution suitable for open spaces. Using the latest CFL and HIT-CE lamps, in wattages from 18W to 150W, the collection includes integral emergency options.

Glacier II comes with an adjustable quick-lock single wire suspension, pre-installed braided cable and finger release bayonet-type connections for the reflectors. Coupled with the ability to provide quick access to the gear tray by sliding, and temporarily retaining, the outer casing upwards, it needs little time to fix or maintain.
