 | | ACTIVE POWER’S OEM CHANNEL INCREASES SALES VOLUME, GROWS MOMENTUM IN CRITICAL UPS MARKET 200 PERCENT INCREASE OVER PREVIOUS THREE MONTHS | | | Active Power | | 27/08/2008 | | | Active Power (NASDAQ: ACPW), inventor and manufacturer of the most energy-efficient critical power systems in the world, announced today that its long standing OEM partnership with Caterpillar Inc. (NYSE: CAT) continues to yield solid results. Caterpillar has ordered more than 21 megawatts of critical backup power during the past three months, representing a nearly 200 percent increase over the prior three month period. The systems have been ordered to support a variety of mission critical applications.
“Our core product differentiators of energy efficiency, space savings, reliability, rugged design and environmental sensitivity are resonating in the marketplace and certainly for our OEM partners,” said Jim Clishem, Active Power CEO and president. “Caterpillar is a significant part of our distribution strategy and we are extremely pleased with their increasing momentum and commitment to critical power systems solution sales.”
