 | | IMSERV WINS CONTRACT WITH TARMAC | | | IMServ | | 18/08/2008 | | | IMServ, the UK’s leading energy solutions provider, is pleased to announce its contract win with Tarmac.
The supplier of heavy building materials has elected IMServ to provide seamless data collection services to all of its 262 half-hourly UK sites. The contract also includes the company’s growth of installing up to fifty new meters per year. As the sole half-hourly electricity data collector, IMServ will now provide Tarmac with visibility on its energy usage across its half-hourly sites. A further program of Automated Meter Reading (AMR) and sub-metering is in the design phase for roll out across the rest of the UK sites; providing complete energy visibility across the entire portfolio.
This heightened visibility will give Tarmac the energy intelligence to better manage its energy usage, meet environmental commitments and reduce CO2 emissions. As an environmentally responsible company with sustainability embedded into its culture (in the last five years alone Tarmac has planted some 111,645 trees), the company is now embracing these challenges.
Robert Turner, Head of Procurement - Energy & Fuels at Tarmac comments, “Tarmac is an energy intensive business. At a time of hyperinflation in energy markets, it is essential that energy reduction programmes form an integral part of any strategy to mitigate and manage cost. Without a clear program and process for measurement, it is impossible to know how we are performing or where to prioritise the effort. IMServ will perform an important role in facilitating this process. We chose IMServ based on its experience and capabilities in the field of remote data collection and data provision.” | |
