YORPOWER AWARDED MAJOR CONTRACT FOR UGANDA

Yorkshire-headquartered Generator supplier Yorpower Manufacturing Limited is to supply the first phase of generators for Africa’s largest mobile telecommunications company, MTN, in Uganda.

The generators are required as part of ongoing development of the telecommunications network in Uganda, associated with MTN’s continental expansion. Phase One will require the supply of 30 generators built to the client’s specification.

Guy Phoenix, commenting on the award, stated “Clearly this is a major breakthrough for us. We have previously supplied generators to telecommunication companies in several African countries, but this is the first time we have broken into the important Ugandan market. We believe this will allow us to maintain our position as one of the premier suppliers to the Mobile Telecommunications market”.

The generators are due to be delivered later this year.
