-Bespoke software allows data from the analysers to directly populate 'Landlord's Report' via Bluetooth-
Telegan Gas Monitoring and its exclusive industry partner Anton have supplied Smith and Byford with an initial order of 40 Sprint V3 hand held flue gas analysers (FGAs) capable of directly populating the 'Landlord's Report'. The units were supplied through one of Anton's master distribution channels.
Telegan and Anton worked closely with Smith and Byford and their software supplier, Vixensoft, to create a bespoke solution which emulates the data from the Sprint V3 on an engineer’s PDA via Bluetooth, allowing direct population of the ‘Landlord’s Gas Safety Certificate’ and automated archiving.
"It is becoming increasingly important to capture and archive FGA data," says Mike Windsor, Anton's Sales Director. "The collaboration with Vixensoft helps exploit the unique ability of the Sprint V3 and its Bluetooth communications to ensure best practice and compliance. Clients are able to receive all the data on a safety check, including FGA readings, wrapped up in one digital document for archiving on a server."
"Smith and Byford has over 70 engineers working on installation and maintenance of local authority contracts and Vixensoft specialises in software for the building services industry, including a reactive maintenance and mobile data solution. It therefore seemed the obvious choice to synchronise all our different strengths to achieve this forward thinking programme which allows Smith and Byford to integrate the Sprint V3 into its day-to-day operations," adds Mike.
Kevin Honner, Product Manager at Telegan, comments: "The whole process is extremely simple because it is automatic. Additionally, the integrity of the data is ensured as there can be no errors in transcription and, because the data is automatically archived to a server, subsequent checks can be done at any time simply by retrieving the relevant report – no more hunting around for filed documents."
"A key factor in our decision to work with Anton and Telegan was the ongoing training support they provide us," says Smith and Byford's Gas Service Department Manager Alan Dring. Carl Burrows, one of the company's Directors, adds, "By implementing this process I really believe we are showing our commitment to continuous improvement by utilising the latest technology, enabling us to deliver and record all relevant information regarding gas servicing."
As well as being an FGA, the Sprint V3 also features as standard a differential thermometer, a differential manometer (with bespoke combined let-by and tightness test), carbon monoxide room safety monitor and a gas escape detector with gooseneck probe and ultra-bright LED searchlight. The simple, intuitive menu structure has an automatic backlit display and allows easy selection of extended sets of pressure units, fuel options, efficiency settings and other preferences.
An important feature of the Sprint V range is 'Smart Purge' technology, which saves battery, pump and filter life, enables intelligent purging for switch-on and switch-off, and allows the purging of gas while other tests are being carried out. |
