English Partnerships, the national regeneration agency, announced today that it has appointed property adviser DTZ to estate manage a number of its sites in the South West.

The seventeen sites, which vary in size, are spread from Plymouth and Dorset through to Gloucester with many remaining unoccupied while plans for development and regeneration are put in place.

English Partnerships’ estate management brief is extensive and ranges from management of security, health and safety and environmental issues such as bats, badgers and newts to the management of heritage sites including the scheduled ancient monument at Tatchbury.

In making the announcement Niki Stratton, Estates Manager for English Partnerships in the South West said: “The requirements to manage our sites are very demanding and the complexity of issues involved will be a full-time challenge for DTZ, who were selected from our panel of national agents. The portfolio is diverse and includes the Grade II listed Hanham Hall carbon challenge site in Bristol through to agricultural holdings near Dorchester. ”

Paul Smith of DTZ’s Bristol-based property asset management team, said: “We are pleased to be appointed to manage this diverse portfolio. Often the current condition of the buildings means great care has to be taken with each site; managing access as well as ensuring repairs and maintenance are carried out in accordance with specific building requirements.”
