It’s far from a run of the mill job for Poole based building firm Greendale Construction with a second new contract in a matter of weeks at the prestigious Canford School, Dorset.

Award winning Greendale Construction have been awarded phase 1 of the refurbishment of Salisbury House at Canford School in Wimborne. This old mill house is currently used by some of the school’s day pupils and work will include a general upgrade of the lodges, kitchens and housemaster’s offices.

Greendale is also carrying out work at the school’s Layard Theatre where the old wardrobe department is being upgraded and will be converted into an office for staff.

The Poole based building firm are no stranger to the co-educational school as they already have contractors on site, working on the refurbishment to convert Lorifer Terrace into staff accommodation. In 2003 Greendale’s completed the Health Centre and improvement works to the English Classrooms at Canford School.

Greendale Construction director Rob Hooker says: “We are pleased to have secured a number of projects at Canford this summer and work is progressing well with the aim of having everything completed by the start of the new school term to avoid disruption to staff or students. The local employment economy has also had a boost as we have engaged additional construction staff for this summer recess work”.
