 | | LATEST TECHNOLOGY TIMBER TREATMENT SERVICE FROM COVERS | | | Covers Timber and Builders Merchants | | 06/08/2008 | | | Going back to the 1960s, Covers Timber & Builders Merchants have always offered their customers a preservative service treatment facility for their timber to help ensure it would have a long and low maintenance service life.
Covers service has now been enhanced by the installation of a brand new plant at their main Chichester site. Using the very latest generation preservative product the 12m long x 2m diameter vessel is capable of treating around 8500m3 a year of construction, fencing and landscaping timbers using Tanalith E wood preservative.
Bob Tee, timber operations manager of Covers, explained the latest investment. “With the new treatment facility we were looking to ‘future proof’ ourselves and our customers as much as possible in terms of the very latest products and treatment technology. The new plant is fully controlled by the Auto-Treater control system from Arch Timber Protection. This not only ensures that each treatment of timber has the correct level of preservative protection for its eventual end use but also allows us to make the best use of the plant’s design and capacity, giving us significant ready treated stocks of key timber components for our customers.”
“As well as offering a wide range of ready treated carcassing, fencing and decking components, we can also offer a speedy, cost effective and reliable service treatment of customers own timbers, if required.”
“We made the choice to use Tanalith E preservative within the new plant as it gives us the ability to offer a new generation preservative system protecting our timbers against decay and insect attack, particularly in ground contact applications, which will give our customers real confidence in their timbers’ long term performance.” | |
