 | | PLUMB CENTER SUPPLIES STRATFORD CITY SITE | | | Wolseley | | 31/07/2008 | | | Plumb Center, part of the Wolseley group, has supplied equipment to leading retail property company Westfield’s mixed-use Stratford City development, adjacent to the site for the London 2012 Olympic & Paralympic Games.
The UK’s largest distributor of plumbing and heating materials approached Klargester to design and supply a large sewage disposal system, a pump station and a grease separator. These products will work in tandem to provide on-site treatment for the temporary offices, used by 100-plus employees based at the 175,000 sq m site which, when complete, will feature retail, leisure and entertainment facilities. The development is one of the largest retail-led urban regeneration projects ever undertaken in the UK.
Plumb Center managing director Steve Ashmore said: “We are delighted to be involved in this prestigious project. The equipment was assembled offsite and delivered as a complete package to enable quick and simple installation.”
Kevin Roe, Klargester’s sales manager, added: “The Hill Master pump station supports the sewage treatment plant, while the 3,000 litre grease separator is designed to remove oils and grease from the catering wastewater, thus minimising the risk of clogged drains and reducing the maintenance requirements for the pump station and plant. The total system is therefore ideal for a large scale development such as this one.
“An important benefit is that the equipment can be removed with minimal disruption when the temporary offices are dismantled in three years time.” | |
