 | | SPEEDY SURVEY INVESTS £1M IN LEICA GPS AND TPS ROLL OUT | | | Speedy Hire | | 29/07/2008 | | | Speedy Survey - part of Speedy Hire, the UK’s largest tool and equipment hire business - is set to roll out £1m of the latest Leica Geosystems’ GPS and TPS equipment across its UK depots.
The investment will see Leica Geosystems Glonass enabled GPS900 and TPS1200 robotic total stations and software solutions available in 11 depots over the next six months.
A UK-exclusive deal with Leica Geosystems ensures the new equipment comes with a choice of user interface. Leica SurvCE provides a direct interface to CAD data in the field, with project drawings downloaded to the equipment for the purpose of setting out. SurvCE can also deliver as-built information straight back to CAD.
The standard Leica Geosystems interface is also provided on both the GPS and TPS for existing Leica users.
Speedy Survey also offers comprehensive training of the new Leica Geosystems equipment. Nine specialist depots have been set up - alongside a team of technical sales staff and office-based technical support engineers - to support customers.
Keith Ferguson, managing director of Speedy Survey said: “Ensuring availability of the most accurate, reliable equipment in the market is our key priority.
“Previously with these systems, an engineer would need to take readings back to the office to cross reference them with drawings but with this system, this work can all be done on site, with obvious time and labour saving benefits.”
Now boasting 22 depots across the UK, Speedy Survey supplies construction and engineering customers with a wide range of survey and safety equipment including lasers, total stations, cable detection, and inspection equipment and monitoring devices. | |
