 | | WOLSELEY CONSOLIDATES LEADERSHIP ROLES | | | Wolseley | | 21/07/2008 | | | Wolseley UK, the UK operating company of FTSE – listed plumbing, heating and building materials distributor Wolseley plc, has announced the appointment of a new managing director.
Given the continuing deterioration in several of its markets, including the UK, the Wolseley group is taking action to reduce duplication and make cost savings across its operations. Rob Marchbank, currently chief executive of Wolseley Europe, will take full operational responsibility as managing director for Wolseley UK with immediate effect, in addition to his existing duties. Aged 48, Mr Marchbank joined Wolseley subsidiary Ferguson in 1982, and in 2001 he moved to the UK as director of strategic planning.
Additionally, Wolseley has announced the merging of its group and UK operations HR teams, reporting to Bob Morrison, group HR director.
As a result of these changes, Nigel Sibley, former managing director of Wolseley UK and Bob Mason, formerly HR director, have left the company. | |
