OVER 500SQM OF HYGIENIC TILED FLOOR
Kemtile
11/07/2008
Manor Bakeries at Moreton make Cadbury’s chocolate cakes. Kemtile have been providing hygienic flooring solutions on the site since 1997 and recentley completed two more projects at this plant both during scheduled plant shutdowns.
During the Christmas shutdown of 2007/2008 Kemtile laid 204 square metres of Pilkington’s Dorset Woolliscroft 200x100mm tiles in Red, Savanna and Grey Steel. They returned for the Easter shutdown to complete a further 345 square metres.
The tiles were laid using the Kagetec BS vibration flooring system and the work included taking up the old floor, putting in new channels and gullies and adding a waterproof membrane to the floor at first floor level to stop water ingress.
All work was completed on time without loss of production. What work had to be done during production time was behind specially erected airtight screens. Kemtile also formed walkways in the different coloured tiles and added steel reinforced expansion joints where necessary.
Kagetec basic system (BS) is at least as good, if not superior, to any vibration fixed tiling system available in the UK. Kagetec tiling systems are engineered in Germany by Van Koetsveld & Grimberg GmbH and Kemtile are the exclusive applicator in UK and Eire.
Neil Greenfield of Manor Bakeries said of the work “There was no loss of production due to appropriate screening”; of the Kemtile operatives “they handle materials in and out very well…they clean as they go…they are a highly skilled workforce”; and of Kemtile in general “the quotation process is excellent, they are very quick to come in and talk through the options”.
Kemtile are specialists in this industry. They have developed specific knowledge about the precise requirements of food and drink production including food manufacture, large scale catering, baking, brewing and drinks processing.
