 | | HILLSIDE LTD TEE’S UP FINAL PHASES OF GREEN GOLF BAR IN SHEFFIELD CITY CENTRE | | | Hillside Ltd | | 15/07/2008 | | | Full service construction, interior fit out and development company, Hillside Ltd, is looking for a hole in one by completing the fit out and interior build for the first ever Golf Bar in Yorkshire in time for its opening in August.
The Golf Bar, to be simply called Green, will be housed in the historic Anglo Works on Holly Street, Sheffield. Four interactive high technology golf simulators will allow customers to play golf at any of 50 different golf courses in the world without setting foot outside Sheffield.
Designed to target corporate customers looking for a unique experience, Green’s golf simulators are almost better than the real thing. There’s no risk of getting soaked, players don’t have to actually walk and “the 19th” is only ever a few yards away!
Green will also have conferencing, entertainment and eating facilities for customers looking for that something different for a corporate event.
Peter Ward, Commercial Manager for Hillside is excited at the prospect of completing the build that was designed by Phillip Moore of Cordonier Escafeld architects.
“This is a fantastic project to be working on and one that will provide Sheffield and South Yorkshire with a unique venue and experience. We were delighted to be commissioned for this project as it fits perfectly with our portfolio of high quality buildings of distinction,” said Peter Ward.
The Anglo Works is a grade two listed building and has been sat empty for many years. The transformation of it into a vibrant business is befitting of the former cutlers and silversmiths that was once at the heart of Sheffield’s traditional and renowned industries.
Iain Martin, Director of City Golf Bar Ltd, the company that commissioned Hillside and will be running Green, are delighted with the professional approach Hillside have taken in keeping to deadlines.
“I knew about Hillside’s work and felt I could trust them to deliver on time and to our standards. The team managing the fit-out has been fantastic. Because of the unusual building we are converting it has not been easy but the team has been flexible and approached problems with a can-do attitude, all of which means we should open on time,” said Iain Martin.
Phillip Moore of Cordonier Escafeld had a host of considerations to take into account when drafting the designs for the project. Phillip claims that Green will be unique in Yorkshire.
“Anglo Works is an important building in the history of Sheffield and it was vital that the design kept in tact its historic integrity while making it a functional building. To transform such an important site into a wonderful new business is really satisfying and we are looking forward to having a few rounds at Green with our company,” said Phillip Moore.
Hillside is based at Halfway on the outskirts of Sheffield from where its 60-strong team of highly skilled tradesmen and professional managers handle contracts throughout most of England. Supporting the design and build teams are a high quality in-house joinery manufacturing centre. The team of Directors have a minimum of 30 years’ individual construction industry experience and have been running the firm since 1991.
Year-on-year growth has seen the company move on to larger projects and is establishing a strong reputation for completing private and public sector contracts valued between £100,000 and £2,500,000 | |
