With the construction sector facing tough times ahead, products that deliver reliable, efficient performance which minimize waste must be part of the toolbox.

INSTA-STIK roofing adhesive - used to attach insulation boards and waterproofing membranes to a variety of substrates on flat roofs - benefits from a unique delivery system allowing precisely controlled doses, so less product and time is wasted.

“Flat roofs account for a third of the UK’s total roof area, many of which belong to public buildings where it is particularly important for contractors to be able to work efficiently, safely and maintain high performance,” said Nick Mills, MD of specialist roofing products company InStar which distributes INSTA-STIK for Dow Building Solutions in the UK.

“Contractors looking for a portable, quick, clean and easy to use system providing fast adhesion are increasingly turning to INSTA-STIK to suit their needs, as they appreciate being able to apply the product with the specially designed application wand and don’t have to rely on guess work which can jeopardize performance on the one hand, or lead to waste on the other.”

INSTA-STIK comes in a portable, pressurized container which needs no external power source, making it easy to use on a high construction site. Unlike liquid polyurethane adhesives, the product is already expanded when dispensed and application can be accurately controlled. It also needs no heating, meaning no set up time enabling faster and leaner construction.

Other benefits include:
•No primer needed and no need to build in drying time;

•No fumes during application, making it safer for contractors to use than bitumen techniques;

•No noise, dust or vibration to the substrate from mechanical fixings;

•Consistent to apply thanks to the unique wand applicator;

•One canister can be used to adhere 100m2 of insulation board.

INSTA-STIK is compatible with a range of insulation boards including extruded and expanded polystyrene, polyurethane, polyisocyanuarate, glass tissue faced, bituminous felt faced, rock fibre, cellular glass, cork, wood fiber and foamed silica. It works with substrates including oriented strand boards, sanded bituminous membranes, mastic asphalt, concrete decks, galvanized metal decks and plywood.
