Solar Gard® today unveiled its latest product innovation, combining outstanding solar performance and exceptional security benefits in one film: 8 Mil LX70. This film is currently shipping to official Solar Gard® dealers.

“Solar Gard® 8 Mil LX70 is for discerning customers who want only the very best in both solar performance, along with safety and security,” explains Christophe Fremont, President of Bekaert Specialty Films LLC, manufacturer of Solar Gard® window film. “This new product offers four distinct benefits, giving dealers one complete solution for safety, solar performance, aesthetic and UV protection concerns.”

Solar Gard® 8 Mil LX70 offers a comprehensive set of features and benefits:
•Safety and security – holds shattered glass in place, preventing break-ins or injury and damage to people and possessions inside.

•Outstanding solar performance – blocks 55% of total solar energy, reducing energy consumption related to cooling

•Optically clear–doesn’t affect the appearance of a building inside or out, and allows maximum natural sunlight through the windows

•UV protection – because it blocks 99% of UV rays, Solar Gard® carries the Seal of Recommendation from the Skin Cancer Foundation. Valuables such as window displays, artwork, carpets and furnishings are protected from UV damage and fading.

Solar Gard® 8 Mil LX70 also meets the highest testing standards for safety and security window film, including combustion rate, tensile strength, peel strength and puncture tests.

Solar Gard® window films are composed of 100 percent sputter-metallized, optically clear polyester, laminated with special adhesives and finished with a durable, scratch-resistant coating. This new offering from Solar Gard® delivers immediate benefits by offering sunscreen-like protection – and now bomb-blast security - to everything inside. Solar Gard® 8 Mil LX70 is ideal for residential homes and commercial installations including retail and restaurants, hospitality, municipal, museum and historical buildings.
