 | | PORTAKABIN DELIVERS SUPERIOR SERVICE AND QUALITY BUILDING SOLUTIONS, ON THE DOUBLE! | | | Portakabin | | 07/07/2008 | | | When the Reserve Forces' and Cadets' Association (RFCA) needed swift delivery of additional office space, it turned to leading modular building supplier Portakabin, to provide 185sqm high-quality accommodation in just 16 weeks.
The Highland RFCA is responsible for supporting the Reserve Forces and Cadets in the Highlands of Scotland, which includes maintaining all their training, organisation and accommodation facilities.
Randall Christie, Head of Estates at Highland RFCA, says: “We contacted Portakabin as replacement space was urgently needed and speed of delivery was essential, as the building was used for administration and recruitment of a Field Medical Squadron within the Territorial Army.
“Portakabin was chosen because of its ability to deliver the building within a really tight timeframe and they did not let us down, with order to handover in just 16 weeks.”
The RFCA were so impressed with the quality and efficiency of service from Portakabin that they requested another building for their site in Elgin.
“The second order was delivered in an even shorter time frame due to Portakabin’s Buying Solutions accreditation. This enabled us to simplify the procurement process, saving time and money.” Continued Mr Christie.
Buying Solutions accreditation assures public-sector customers that the company offers excellent quality and value for money and enables them to place orders with without the need for time-consuming and costly compulsory competitive tendering exercises.
Each building was over 185sqm in size and adapted to include single person and multi-use offices, kitchen area, toilet and store cupboard. Portakabin even added a covered walkway to connect the modular building to the existing structure at the Dundee site.
In keeping with CAT 5E and military regulations, Portakabin contained all cables and wires as part of the building specification.
The Portakabin Ultima buildings were also delivered with a five-year product warranty and 20-year structural warranty¹ as well as the pioneering Portakabin Customer Charter. This states that if Portakabin fails to deliver a project on time and to the agreed contract sum, the customer will be entitled to an additional twelve months product warranty. | |
