 | | MOBILE SOLUTION TO WASTE WATER PROBLEMS | | | Cleveland Biotech | | 04/07/2008 | | | The Baccelerator, from Cleveland Biotech is a compact, mobile biological activation unit providing an environmentally friendly, economic solution for waste water treatment plants (WWTP) that have failed consent or industrial effluent streams that are having trouble degrading a particular organic waste compound.
Whether the problem is the result of overloads, toxic shocks or receiving non-standard wastes, the fully automated Baccelerator produces a continuous flow of active and acclimatised specially selected bacteria to overcome typical problems such as high levels of COD, BOD, suspended solids and ammonia. It is particularly useful in boosting the biological activity of an under-sized or under-performing plant.
Available to buy or hire, the Baccelerator is just one metre wide, 1.7 metres long, a maximum of 1.6 metres high and can be mounted on a trailer. Running off a 240v or 415 three phase power supply, it should be sited next or near to the clarification chamber of the treatment works, from where the effluent is drawn. The unit will operate unattended, requiring only a monthly service visit. CBL microbiologists will tailor-make the bacterial mix to suit the situation. The Baccelerator can be adapted to break down hydrocarbons in the waste stream, and can be used to provide rapid start-ups for new or seasonal plants. It can also be employed to overcome and prevent filamentous algae growth.
Installation costs from £11,000, making the Baccelerator a modestly priced solution that delivers rapid and continuous results. | |
