 | | FURSE PREPARES FOR THE NEW LIGHTNING PROTECTION STANDARDS. | | | Furse | | 04/07/2008 | | | September 2008 sees the biggest change in lightning protection standards for over 20 years, as the old BS 6651:1999 Protection against Lightning is finally withdrawn, to be fully replaced by BS EN 62305:2006.
Furse, a world leader in lightning protection, has developed a comprehensive technical support package to help consultants, installers and relevant engineers in end user organisations to come to terms with this new standard in lightning protection.
Despite BS EN 62305:2006 Protection against Lightning being introduced two years ago, there is evidence that many professionals are unprepared for the scale and depth of the new standard.

It has a more detailed risk assessment, and includes electrical and electronic systems protection as an integral part of any lightning protection system.
