Leading bathroom pod manufacturer Baudet has just supplied the first 16 self-contained pods as part of the refurbishment of the Castleton Hotel in Paddington, London.

The hotel’s new owners wanted to refresh the hotel interiors but were limited by the lack of space in some of the rooms. Commenting on the requirements, Keith Burch, partner and projects manager at Crescent Projects said, “The client requested low-maintenance bathrooms that would be easy to clean and wouldn’t require frequent decorating. We recognised bathroom pods as a cost effective and timesaving solution.”

On specifying Baudet pods, Keith Burch continued, “As this was a refurbishment project we couldn’t just simply crane the pods into place. Baudet was one of the very few manufacturers able to accommodate this. My client was also very impressed with the choice of finishes Baudet offered.”

Baudet delivered 16 pods to the hotel for the first phase of the refurbishment, with a second delivery of pods due in the autumn. Once delivered the pods were dismantled, carried into place and re-assembled. A few connections then completed the installation. The refurbishment project used three models, the Saphir, Amethyste and Onyx to fit different room sizes. All pods were upgraded to include chrome accessories for a luxury finish, and came complete with fixtures such as mirrors, towel rails and shaver sockets.

The Castleton Hotel owner, Stephen Pearson, is delighted with the results, “The pods look great and I am particularly impressed with Baudet and its after sales service. In fact, we are so pleased with the end result that we have specified a further 48 pods for another hotel later in the year”.

Keith Burch added, “The bathroom pods have a similar appearance to conventional bathrooms yet are much quicker to install. The hotel has had excellent feedback from guests, and housekeeping has commented how easy they are to keep clean!”

Baudet has more than 17 years’ experience manufacturing prefabricated pods, supplying over 100,000 units worldwide. The company’s pods offer a high-quality, cost-effective and extremely practical solution for ready-made bathrooms across a multitude of multi-dwelling occupancy installations including hotels, hospitals and halls of residences.
