 | | THEAM LAUNCHES DOUBLE TELESCOPIC CONVEYOR TDL16.5 ON UK MARKET | | | THEAM | | 23/06/2008 | | | This summer, THEAM, a specialist in truck-mounted concrete conveyor belts, will launch a new product on the British market — the TDL16.5 double telescopic conveyor (aluminium version). A unit has been purchased already in the UK, and it will be installed at FAHEYS CONCRETE (in SW England), which is a ready-mixed producer. THEAM is worldwide leader in its field, with 7,500 units in use across the world.
FAHEYS CONCRETE, which is based in South-Western England, purchased its first THEAM conveyor in 2002. At the time, it was a standard conveyor. The English company is now set to acquire the more advanced double telescopic conveyor version – the TDL16.5.
The competitive advantages of the TDL 16.5 conveyor are manifold. For a start, the 16.5m aluminium conveyor (called TDL 16.5) weights 500kg less than the previous steel version. As a result, concrete producers can put more concrete in the drum. Moreover, the unit’s stability is reinforced, as the 500kg lightening is spread over the beam.
The lightweight double telescopic conveyor belt also has added safety features: a pressure limiter on hydraulic system; a pressure gauge control of cylinders; an optimal safety guard system; a lock/unlock indicator light for outriggers and rotating arm; and, finally, an emergency shut-off on the truck. Besides, the unit is equipped with a double rotation chain system with pressure limiters.
The proportional hydraulics system ensures greater precision and longer life span for parts and machinery, while the new-generation carbide scraper features a compression spring and curved blade. Additionally, the sliding system prevents concrete segregation and makes the conveyor compatible with every kind of concrete plasticity. Finally, this product is perfect for complex construction sites: it can be used to deliver concrete to a high location, through openings.

The advantages of the THEAM conveyor start with the fact that a quick return on investment (from 6 to 18 months) can be secured. The system is easy to use, which guarantees a fast learning process for staff. Also, there is no concrete loss, as compared to a pump, and the unit is easy to wash with a high-pressure washer. Finally, THEAM supplies a product with enhanced safety (with a high voltage power line detector as an additional option).
