 | | RESIN SURFACES GOES BACK TO SCHOOL WITH STEADFAST FLOORING | | | Resin Surfaces Ltd (RSL) | | 19/06/2008 | | | Resin Surfaces Limited (RSL) has provided a resin flooring system currently in use in science laboratories in one of the UK’s newest flagship schools.
Installed in Newall Green secondary school in Wythenshawe, Greater Manchester by specialist flooring contractor, Steadfast Flooring, the specification provided by RSL represents a hard wearing alternative to vinyl floor coverings.
The installation was completed as the first part of a two phase project to provide the school with new buildings. Contracted by main contractor, Balfour Beatty, Steadfast prepared the newly laid concrete slab in classrooms with RSL’s Resuprime to prime and prepare the surface. Following this, Steadfast applied a 2mm epoxy-based self-smoother, Resuflor 2000 across a 650 sq m area.
Steadfast Flooring managing director, Dave Burrows, commented: “Resuflor 2000 is an ideal product for the school science lab environment. Not only is it highly chemical resistant and easy to clean, but it also copes well with the challenge of scraping chairs that can prove the undoing of vinyl-based systems.”
Following the success of the Newall Green Secondary project, Steadfast and RSL have experienced increased demand from schools in search of durable and reliable flooring systems.
RSL managing director, Ivy Wroe, concluded: “This is an enormous growth area at the moment, as the Building Schools for the Future programme gathers momentum. We are delighted to be able to meet the increasing need for quality construction products for use in new schools, and look forward to working closely with Steadfast on future projects.” | |
