 | | THE HAULFRYN GROUP HAS IMPROVED FACILITIES FOR ITS HOLIDAY HOME RESIDENTS AND INCREASED PROFITS AT GLAN GORS IN ANGLESEY WITH THE INSTALLATION OF A NEW LEISURE COMPLEX | | | Pinelog Ltd | | 17/06/2008 | | | Glan Gors is licensed for 112 privately owned holiday homes, but until recently only an outdoor swimming pool was available for owners’ use. Due to the vagaries of the British climate, this was used very little during the 10 month season.
In keeping with its commitment to constantly add facilities to increase owners’ enjoyment, management at The Haulfryn Group decided to upgrade facilities at Glan Gors by commissioning an indoor leisure complex.
Several other parks in the Group had already introduced leisure complexes designed and built by Derbyshire based Pinelog. These had all proved to be popular with owners and been responsible for attracting new buyers so when it came to upgrading the Glan Gors facilities, they had no hesitation in turning to Pinelog again for a complete design and build project.
The new building includes a 12m x 6m pool with integral children’s splash pool; fitness suite; sauna; changing rooms with showers and toilets; reception; offices; laundrette; store room and plant room. The leisure complex is constructed in timber frame, with glulam laminated trusses, which span the swimming pool and reception areas. The frame is clad in cement particle panels finished with a natural render. Full height windows and glazed doors at each end of the pool make maximum use of natural light and lead out onto an enclosed deck area.
Special attention has been paid to the need to minimise energy consumption. High levels of insulation in excess of building regulations, and the ability of the timber frame to absorb heat in the day and radiate it back at night, minimise energy costs and maintain a comfortable climate within the building. Said Glan Gors Manager, James Beetham: “We are delighted with the new facility which is used regularly by all our residents. When we first explained our plans and told them that site fees would be increasing there were some objections. However within days of opening the new complex, even the most sceptical made a point of coming to us to say how much they loved the new facility.”
“We have not lost a single resident; in fact quite the opposite. The complex has helped us re-position Glan Gors, increased our number of enquiries and as it makes our lifestyle package here so much more attractive, improved our enquiry to sales ratio.” | |
