Plantation Place, one of the largest office developments in the heart of the City of London, has provided a dramatic setting for Armourcoat polished plaster. Comprising almost an entire City block, Plantation Place occupies a prominent corner location fronting onto Great Tower Street and Mincing Lane.

Visitors enter the building through an external arcaded space into a spectacular double height entrance hall. Armourcoat polished plaster has been used to great effect, with the company's skilled craftsmen finishing 166m2 of white Spatulata finish. The highly polished surface has resulted in a striking mirror-smooth finish with extraordinary light reflecting qualities. This bold and expansive application of Armourcoat demonstrates its flexibility, and forms an incredibly durable, seamless and monolithic finish. In addition, Armourcoat's AntiCrack skimcoat was utilised to eliminate movement and cracking between plasterboard joints. The alternative to traditional skim coating, AntiCrack creates an extremely strong backing layer capable of ironing out joint lines, bumps and bead flaring.

Local building authorities required that Plantation Place should reflect the historical context of the surrounding buildings, with reliance on natural materials used throughout. As a natural product, Armourcoat was the obvious solution providing a stone-like finish, which is both tactile and exudes strength.
