COUNCIL CALLS TIME ON SUBWAY
Ringway
11/06/2008
Ringway, the highways specialist, is working with Surrey County Council to decommission the subway on the A322 Lightwater By-Pass which is in poor structural condition and prone to flooding. 180m2 of foamed concrete was poured into the 46m long subway over two days. The subway will now be replaced with a new controlled pedestrian crossing over the by-pass and roundabout. The contract also involves the installation of new footpaths and significant landscaping work on the roundabout.
Ringway has worked closely with the Highways Agency to minimize traffic disruption during the works - including working at night and removing lane closures during the busiest periods.
