 | | TRUSS2FRAME CONVERTS “2” GANG-NAIL | | | Consultec UK | | 10/06/2008 | | | Truss2Frame, the Hull based manufacturer of roof trusses and timber frames, has partnered with Gang-Nail® Systems for the entirety of its timber operations. Gang-Nail Systems products will be used in the construction of roof trusses, walls and floors, while Gang-Nail Systems’ sister company, Consultec®, will provide software for the engineered timber frame company. Truss2Frame will also be manufacturing Ecojoist®, Gang-Nail Systems’ open-web steel joist system.
“When deciding on a company to partner with for engineering products and software, it became clear that Gang-Nail Systems could provide the best solution to move Truss2Frame forward,” comments Glenn Watson, Managing Director of Truss2Frame. “I’d observed the development of the Consultec software over some time, and at the turn of the year decided to invest in it. Ecojoist is a precision-engineered structural flooring component that consists of parallel stress graded timber flanges joined together with V-shaped galvanised steel webs. This makes Ecojoist lightweight, strong and versatile – offering the architect, builder and specifier the ideal product for 21st century building techniques. Truss2Frame is utilising Ecojoist’s open web construction to guarantee easy access for installation of ventilation, heating and other building services, and to deliver excellent structural, acoustic and thermal performance.
Consultec is the leading supplier of software to the timber frame industry, and has recently released its “Consultec Framing” solution. This is a direct replacement for Consultec’s already very successful timber frame software system, widely used by manufacturers, engineers and designers in the UK and Ireland. By responding to customer feedback, Consultec has been able to develop this software to further improve the speed and accuracy of its timber frame design package, and to include a fully objectified CAD system. | |
