Urmet Domus has introduced an induction loop amplifier module that can be built into their external range of door entry systems.
The IL-Urmet Module has been designed specifically to aid communication for people with hearing difficulties who wear a hearing aid equipped with a telecoil. The unit requires just a simple connection to the normal intercom power feed and an interconnection to the existing Urmet speaker module to function. Standing in close proximity to the door station any received audio on the door station is then heard via a hearing aid in addition to the normal speaker reception.
The first site in the UK to be fitted with the new module is the Embankment Centre, Thurnscoe Sure Start Children's Centre, Rotherham.
Sure Start is a government programme which aims to focus on achieving a better outcome for children by improving their health and emotional development together with increasing the availability of childcare.
Part of this programme entails supporting the parents in their aspirations towards employment. It provides affordable childcare and has been developed mainly in disadvantaged areas.
The specification for the integrated systems at each Sure Start centre varies depending on the local conditions and the range of services provided by the centre. At The Embankment Centre, Thurnscoe, F4 Ltd were asked to install an access control system that incorporated a loop induction aerial system for the hard of hearing. The installation of this system which was managed by their Contracts Manager Ian Thornley.
F4 Ltd were able to take advantage of our recently introduced induction loop amplifier module which could be easily integrated into The Embankment Centre, Thurnscoe Sure Start centre's access control system.
The introduction of Urmet Domus' induction loop amplifier module came at an ideal time and has proved to be ideal for The Embankment Centres requirements, enabling F4 Ltd to entirely meet the access system's specification.
