 | | ACCESSING TRANSPORT WITH TORMAX | | | Tormax United Kingdom Limited | | 02/06/2008 | | | Delivering a state-of-the-art integrated transport facility for Hull travellers, Paragon Interchange was opened in September 2007 and features a wall of forty-four, automatic sliding glass doors installed by TORMAX™. The doors are powered by the TORMAX™ WIN DRIVE 2201 operator which was developed in response to customer demand for more cost-effective door automation, offering simple day-to-day control combined with long-term reliability. Quick to install, thanks to an innovative component fastening system, the WIN DRIVE is capable of delivering continuous performance in busy locations such as the £18m Hull Interchange development, where trains, buses and coaches are all brought together under one roof.
Having successfully worked together on a number of smaller projects, TORMAX™ was invited to tender for Paragon Interchange by Glass and Framing Solutions of Hull. “The quote TORMAX™ provided was highly competitive and offered a cost-effective solution that we were confident would result in an aesthetically impressive access system,” comments Tony Waudby of Glass and Framing Solutions. With over 50 years of technological development, TORMAX™ has certainly earned a reputation for reliability and safety, making them one of today’s leading automatic door manufacturers.
In developing the WIN DRIVE TORMAX™ reduced the dimensions down to a slim 142mm x 100mm, allowing door automation to be installed in the majority of openings. However, no compromise on power was made with the Win Drive having a capacity to operate either a single-leaf sliding door of up to 120kg or a double set of doors weighing 100kg per leaf. Offering an impressive opening width, the operator can provide up to 2000mm clear pass-through space.
In addition to the WIN DRIVE 2201 TORMAX™ offers a complete range of DDA compliant automatic doors systems including folding and revolving doors.
