3M, the diversified technology company, has enhanced its range of abrasive Cut Off Wheels for portable angle grinders. Following on from a successful European introduction, the INOX cutting discs are now available in the UK for the metal fabrication market.
Suitable for cutting all metals, including stainless steel, the INOX finish formulation is iron free and aluminium oxide based, therefore able to cut through most commonly used materials, while reducing the possibility of cross contamination than can lead to corrosion problems. Two new sizes - 115mm and 125mm diameters – are available in 1mm and 1.6mm thicknesses for high productivity and cut quality.
“The INOX product can be applied to light precise cutting applications on all metals including stainless steel,” explains Cheri Hayne, technical manager in 3M’s Industrial and Transportation Business. “Its clean cut and excellent finish ensures that no additional working steps are necessary.”
Resin bonding provides good mineral anchorage making the product fully compliant with EN12413, the safety standard for bonded abrasive products. As such, the INOX wheel also exhibits high resistance to breaking and side loads, benefiting the user.
Available from distributors now, the INOX Cut Off Wheel complements 3M’s extensive abrasives range. 3M’s technical specialists, as always, are able to assist customers identify the best tool system and working practices for each of their applications.
