 | | SOLAR WINDOWS ADD REHAU RAUFERNO TO PRODUCT RANGE | | | REHAU | | 23/05/2008 | | | Commercial specialists Solar Windows are now offering fire resistant PVC-U windows and doors using the REHAU RAUFERNO system.
Based on the REHAU S706 70mm profile, the patented RAUFERNO design incorporates an intumescent material which allows it to satisfy the requirements of BS476 Parts 20 and 22 and the 1992 Building Regulations.
The new Solar windows and doors, which have full FIRAS approval, can be used for fire escape routes, entrance halls, deck access flats, fanlights and sidelights coupled to doors and for routes between a house and integral garage.
They provide all the safety and security of traditional fire rated products but with the inherent advantages of PVC-U in terms of low maintenance, improved thermal and sound insulation and excellent security options.
Bob Jenkins, Business Development Manager for Solar Windows, said: “In the social housing sector where Solar is so strong, there is a fairly constant requirement for fire resistant windows and doors. We are therefore delighted to be able to offer a proven, innovative solution in REHAU PVC-U with a choice of design options and door panel colours.”
Solar has already been awarded a contract using the new fire rated doors for Newport City Council.
Solar has been accredited by REHAU to fabricate and install the RAUFERNO system, which is fully certified by the Warrington Fire Research Centre. | |
