MARLEY MAKES MOSQUE FIT FOR WORSHIP

Square cream downpipes and hoppers from Marley Plumbing and Drainage’s Alutec range are ensuring a durable and low maintenance rainwater solution whilst complementing the intricate stonework at the FM Mosque in Peterborough.

With a brief to provide fittings that matched the render and blended unobtrusively into the façade of the mosque, the non standard BS cream colour of the 102 x 76mm Aluminium downpipes and hoppers was specially sourced by Marley. In addition, adjustable side projection outlets were manufactured by Marley to overcome the potentially difficult location of the drainage channel. These were then cut and adjusted on site to facilitate the installation of the downpipes.

The Alutec products were specified for the job following a recommendation from Bernie Tyson, Managing Director of Andrews Building Supplies. He comments: “We have a long standing relationship with Marley and are always impressed with the level of expertise and complete service they provide. The fittings look fantastic and everyone involved with the project is delighted with the outcome.”

Manufactured from high-grade aluminium, Alutec offers a resilient rainwater solution. Aluminium is more durable than zinc and lighter than cast iron. It is also infinitely recyclable, ensuring an environmentally friendly solution and has the added benefit of not needing to be repainted. Alutec rainwater systems are available in a wide range of colours and due to the long lasting finish, are suitable for both modern and traditional domestic, commercial and industrial applications.
