The state-of-the-art Sunvizor system is already being used at Building 3140 in Oxford Business Park to shield occupants from solar heat gain. The system ensures a comfortable working environment, whatever the time of day.
Sunvizor comprises a series of thin aluminium Louvres, which are considerably lighter and slimmer than conventional aerofoil shading solutions. The Sunvizor system gives a less-noticeable form of solar shading when compared to standard Louvres, making them the ideal choice for architects who want the solar shading to be a less-obvious addition to the building envelope. The system can also be retro-fitted to buildings.
The system is fixed in position at the top of the windows they are shading, and contains Louvres joined securely with sturdy drop rods, to maintain the optimum spacing for effective solar shading. Sunvizor can also be hinged to allow easy access for maintenance and cleaning.
The Sunvizor system has been fitted to the curtain walling of the new Oxford building with profile cut brackets. In total 96 panels were fitted to the site’s windows, all 922.5mm in height and in a variety of widths – perfectly matching the design specifications.
Only 2.5 miles from the city centre, Oxford Business Park boasts nearly 90 acres of space for offices, manufacturing and research and development.
