 | | FREE COOLING – AS GOOD AS IT SOUNDS | | | Aermec | | 01/05/2008 | | | With a reputation for developing innovative and energy efficient air conditioning solutions, Aermec offers the NSB range of ‘free cooling’ air cooled water chillers. Free cooling is proven technologies in helping both new build and refurbishment projects meet prevailing energy efficiency targets. Further, reduced energy consumption on an ongoing basis can make free cooling an attractive and cost effective solution for centralised cooling systems, chilled beams, and fan coils in both Data Centres and Comms Rooms – indeed any system with year round operation.
With high levels of functionality, the NSB range is available in 32 sizes from 280 kW to 1,550 kW, achieving Energy Efficiency Ratios from 2.9 to 30.0. The NSB free cooling air cooled water chillers operate in three modes: - compressors only when the ambient outdoor temperature is above return water temperature - compressors plus free cooling when the ambient outdoor temperature falls below return water temperature - free cooling only when the ambient outdoor temperature reaches a temperature where compressors can be switched off.
The unique condenser design allows full fan air flow and hence maximises the free cooling contribution under all ambient conditions. A high efficiency double screw compressor offers stepless capacity control from 10 – 100%. Chilled water circulating pump option is available, as is a glycol-free version with internal closed circuit. An extra low noise model can also be supplied, making the NSB range a flexible solution that can be configured to meet precise application requirements.
Aermec NSB chillers have recently been deployed in the high profile redevelopment at 55 Baker Street, contributing to the project’s BREEAM ‘Excellent’ rating, and achieving a pay back period calculated at just 2-3 years. | |
